How the PreARE Program Works

The PreARE Program is broken down into two major components: the “In-School”
component and the “Graduate” component.

In School Component

The PreARE In-School Component focuses on the development of students from a
professional standpoint.  Starting from their first year, incoming freshman will be
educated on the nuances and hurdles they will confront in their pursuit of
becoming an architect. We keep students informed via email newsletters and
informational bulletins where they will be educated on the advancements and
progression of not only the ARE but the Internship Development Program (“IDP”)
and National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (“NCARB”) requirements.

We will inform students about professional internships available locally and
nationally as well as news and updates affecting students throughout the United
States and globally.  We design a strategic path for every architecture student and
from the first semester, we educate students on how and when they will complete
that path.  In short, we place all architecture students on an ARE Passage Track.

The Graduate Component

The PreARE Graduate Component is an intensive five-month course immediately
after graduation that will prepare every candidate to take the ARE in its entirety in
a single week. All candidates in our program will sit for the ARE 4.0 on the same
week each year and take the entire
exam.  There is no room for procrastination in our program. We provide the
discipline to take the architecture licensure process seriously.

Each candidate will sit for the entire ARE, six to seven months after their
graduation.  This course will be taught by committed faculty and will consist of
weekend sessions, every weekend (over 125 hours of classroom instruction) for
five months.  The
PreARE Program will also assist all candidates in submitting the
necessary paperwork to commence their IDP and NCARB maintenance record and
will aid them in setting up their testing schedule with their respective testing agency.

The Fall 2009 Graduate Component is tentatively scheduled to be offered in
El Paso, Lubbock, Dallas, San Antonio & Houston starting in July 2009 until October 2009.
